Bruce C. Bennett
Dr. Bruce C. Bennett has provided the Gillette and Casper, Wyoming, communities with access to compassionate mental health services as Primary Psychiatrist since August 2011. In this capacity, Bruce C. Bennett, M.D. provides diagnosis, care, and pharmacologic treatment to individuals with mental disorders. His patients range in age from teens to adults, and he works closely with all patients in enabling them to perform daily functions and reach their maximum capabilities.
Prior to establishing his current practice, Dr. Bennett served as Staff Psychiatrist for three years at the Wyoming Behavioral Institute in Casper. He performed inpatient and outpatient services, also instructing medical, physician assistant, and nurse practitioner students in allopathic and osteopathic medicine. His outpatient care services emphasized working with patients in a team relationship to prevent hospitalization.
Throughout his tenure with the Institute, Dr. Bruce C. Bennett served as Secretary of the Medical Executive Committee, working to provide students with a positive learning environment and to improve the public image of the institution.
Dr. Bennett’s current practice in Wyoming builds on seven years of experience as a psychiatrist in the state of Washington. He initially served as Staff Psychiatrist at Sunderland Family Treatment Services in Kennewick, expanding his practice scope to include in patients with Lourdes Counseling Center in Richland. During his four years at the Center, Bruce C. Bennett, M.D., oversaw a medication clinic serving 1,400 patients with chronic mental illnesses. As the Center’s Chemical Dependency Unit Supervisor, he notably improved supervision protocol for chemically dependent patients. In 2007, he rejoined Sunderland Family Treatment Services, serving for a year as the facility’s Medical Director.
In his free time, Dr. Bruce C. Bennett pursues interests in outdoor activities, including big game hunting. He is also an avid photographer and writer.
